Intamin Impulse Coaster in LEGO

Very old project I did - this is the start of a model of an Intamin "Impulse Coaster" (ie. Linear Gale at Korakuen, in Japan, or Wicked Twister at Cedar Point, USA). The programming was all done with optical sensors along the track (custom) driving three banks of motors with rubber tires engaging a kicker plate on the top of the chassis. The "holding brake" is simulated with another rubber tire setup and an encoder for position feedback.
