Eduard Shevardnadze meets Ayatollah Khomeini in Tehran, 1989. Ayatollah khomeini sent a letter for Gorbachev, challenged Communism ideology and anticipated the collapse of soviet union. After that Eduard Shevardnadze came to Tehran to deliver Gorbachev answer. But his answer was just a diplomatic gesture and he didn't take ayatollah opinions seriously. Because of that and as you see in the video Ayatollah didn't wait for complete answer and just said before leaving : "I just wanted to open up a bigger space for you."
