The Tulane Green Wave went 38-22 in 1985. Danny Wagner led the Green Wave with a .398 batting average and 16 home runs. The Green Wave won the Rollins Tournament in Winter Park, Florida. Tulane won all 6 games against Rollins, Central Michigan and Virginia Military. In the Metro Conference Tournament the Green Wave dropped its first game to Virginia Tech and then tried to change their luck by mixing up their uniforms. They wore their Astro-striped jersey with their blue pants the next day against Louisville and won. The wore that combo again the next day against rival Memphis State and won. The luck ran out the next day when the rematch with Virginia Tech turned into a slugfest with the Green Wave on the losing side of a 14-12 score.
