in one of the most exciting and hardest fought battle for kaiso supremacy, it boiled down to the last two calypsonians of the night...Black Stalin & Defending Calypso Monarch, David Rudder. here is David Rudder's exhilerating performance of his hit "Calypso Music" at the 1987 Calypso Monarch Finals. This performance did in fact beat out Black Stalin's "Bun Dem", however he was edged out by Stalin (due to the 1st round performance) and had to settle for 2nd position. Rudder walked out arm in arm with Stalin when Stalin was announced Calypso Monarch. Talk about graciously accepting defeat. However this was his last ever appearance as a contestant in the Calypso Monarch Finals. He is and always will be a King in the eyes of trinis everywhere...
