Travel Switzerland: Weather Because of the high altitudes in Switzerland, travelers to the area can be surprised by unpredictable weather on a fairly regular basis. But it really depends as to where exactly you are traveling to within Switzerland as to what to expect. Zurich, for instance, rarely has rain or snow, and temperatures hover between 3-23 degrees Celsius for most of the year. Geneva, however, has snow five months of the year, with approximately 7-8 days of rain a month. Temperatures can range from an average of 4 degrees Celsius in January, to highs of 26 degrees or more in the summer months. Travel Switzerland: Eating Out Although more expensive than most of the countries surrounding Switzerland, travelers can find fairly priced meals if they shop around a bit. Meals are served at the same times as most European countries: Lunch is in between noon and 2pm, and Dinner between 6-8pm, usually. Similar meals can be served for both lunch and dinner, but most often lunch is the cheaper fare.
