It would be faster than reloading a pistol clip or a rifle clip. Shotgun rounds are so bulky you could just get them in there really quick vs trying to get smaller M16 rounds or 45 ACP into a clip.

If you were going into war or anything like that, you would have the magazines already loaded. You know that you have to do that for all guns, they do not come pre-loaded.
