Good luck with your performance. I'm sure you'll do fine, everyone starts from somewhere.

Is it me or is the video out of sync. I.e. the musicians seem to be playing the notes before we here them?

Oh God..there is a cemballo here.Who can't hear the cords and take the right tempo?Which is probably being tested over n over again through the proccess before the performance. The musicians have done their homework and they have clear in their minds where the accelerandi or the ritenutti could take place, even though where must piu animato can play or a crescendo must be heard.

You hve right.I'm not sitting the 1st chair.I'm playing cello and I'm the second one.I'm play in a small orchestra.I have play a lot of times of course in groups of max 8 person.Okteta.We had never the need of this extrem movement.Coisidence..maybe..

stageoma, I assume form what you've said that you don't play a musical instrument? If you don't we can safely assume that you have you never played 1st Violin, or 1st of any section in the orchestra for that matter, if you had you would realise that movements like the ones they are making are necessary to bringing the orchestra/section in on time and keeping them in time as they watch you!

Of course and everyone can do whatever he wants.I don't know if this back n forth is more reminiscent of Bach's time and to be honest I don't care too much.Bach didn't told us anything about his music right?So..the movement..there is no suddenly "not allowed".I'm noone who can put rules. For me it's just waste of energy and bad communication among the musicians.Feeling the rythm and the music with no excessive actions is what I like. That head-banging was ironic. That's my opinion. ;)
