Actually, because this is an illusionist, thinking inside the box would be assuming it was an illusion; whereas, thinking outside the box would be assuming it's not real. Which, illusion in itself should be an indication that it's not real. He would be one of the richest persons in the world off of the patent for teleportation alone.

The one thing that made it seem really fake was the father/son reunion. Made me think they were actors. Great illusion though, the rest of it baffles me.

ehhh, the camera angle helps not reveal the illusion, its fine in front of a live audience because they cant watch it over and over, but on video, copperfield makes sure even the smallest things that can be detected cant be seen
