I prefer Brutus speech. Marco Atonius brings down the idea of a new republic :P

Absolute class within itself!
Way to go Marlon Brando!

I often see monologues as spoken arias. Brando is one of my all time favorite actors, he was very present and realistic in his acting, I remember being at an airport when I heard of his passing away, very sad.

hello, jowox,
thanks especially
for your musical note about
the last word speech "ANOTHEEER".
Yes, Brandos' speech seems have many relactions
with music, Probably his great instinct as actor
make sounds Shakespeare monologue
in a manner more near to music than to psychology.

a truly classic monologue! The whole movie is filled with this majestic orations and gielgud and mason are no slouches either!
on a side note: brando goes up to a tenor high B flat at the end on the word ANOTHEEER.

"Friends, Homos, Countrymen.
Lend me your rears.
I come to marry Caesar not to praise him."

The best part of the movie. A Titanic interpretation.

that's my favorite Shakespeare play, it's a great discussion on power, idealism, dictatorship and freedom. Orson Welles once placed the actions of "Julius Caesar" in 1930 Germany, in order to discuss the nazi victory. That shows how universal is this story
