This game is definitely comparable to any Final Fantasy game, and in some ways, even better. It's got an amazing storyline spanning two games, along with incredible music and graphics. I've talked to a lot of "old school" gamers who've said it's still their #1 favorite. What I like most about this game is that despite the complex storyline, the underlying theme behind everything is still friendship, and also love across time. If you haven't played Crono Trigger, I suggest you do that, also.

I haven't found a game yet with a better soundtrack than Chrono Cross. Not even half as good. People who like this opening theme song should put 'Chrono cross soundtrack' into youtube and you can listen to the other wonderful tracks from this game.

FFS if you ever play PS1 you will know that no game in PS1 match the graphic of chrono cross. this game really chrono crossing the time to PS2 LOL

Well, it's an old PS1 game. So don't be expecting amazing graphics like FFXII. That being said, it does have the best story and the best music of all time. So yeah, if you like story driven games with amazing music and a lot of characters to recruit, you're going to love it. Not everyone liked the battle system however. I think it's ok but you don't have the dual and triple unite attacks like you had in Chrono Trigger. That's quite unfortunate but whatever.. Still one of the best rpgs ever.
